The tips, one available each business day through the April 15 tax deadline, offer single-topic briefs on tax topics affecting millions of people.<\/p>\n<p>The easy-to-read tips cover a wide range of topics to help people with the 2014 filing season, which begins Jan. 31. Many tips offer information on money-saving tax credits and deductions that can be easy to overlook and could affect your refund.<\/p>\n<p>Topics for 2014 include:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>How to avoid tax scams<\/li>\n<li>Help available through IRS.gov<\/li>\n<li>Who can claim the Earned Income Tax Credit<\/li>\n<li>Free File<\/li>\n<li>Free volunteer tax help<\/li>\n<li>Fastest and safest way to get your refund<\/li>\n<li>How to choose a tax preparer<\/li>\n<li>Tax help \u2018en Espa\u00f1ol\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Tax return errors that slow down your refund<\/li>\n<li>The home office deduction<\/li>\n<li>Education tax credits<\/li>\n<li>Helpful tips for paying your taxes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can receive the Tax Tips automatically each day via email by signing up for a free service on IRS.gov. From the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/uac\/e-News-Subscriptions-2\">Subscriptions<\/a> page, choose the \u201cTax Tips\u201d drop-down menu, then click on \u201cSubscribe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to more than 60 filing season tips, several special edition tax tips will be available on the IRS website.
